Julian Lock is a creative. A generalist. He adopts the analog meaning of cut & paste in his work, thriving on mashing things together & finding new mediums to solve problems. His notebooks are organised chaos, bursting with sketches, ideas, and overheard quotes. Sitting still isn’t his forte. He sees himself as a quiet considerer — unless you know him, in which case, you’ve been warned.
He’s worked at agencies like M&C Saatchi, Reunion, Common Ventures, and Bring (Universal Music). At M&C, he cut his teeth under the guidance of Australia’s creative heavyweights, creating work for some of Australia's legacy brands. He enjoys the collaborative energy of creative agencies and finds inspiration in being around people. Whether it’s always-on work or a pitch, he’s all about throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks.
If he weren’t a creative, he thinks he’d enjoy carpentry.

“A young designer straight outta Central Saint Martin’s, London. You could probably stop there to be honest. Julian is properly trained and tested, in the most competitive of environments and a rare find in our market. He brings ideas to his craft and was integral on some very tough briefs whilst being at the heart of the subversive MilZ subculture that roamed the corridors after dark at M&C. Grab him and push him, he’ll deliver.”
Sharon Edmondston
Group Creative Director
M&C Saatchi, AUNZ
“With both graphic design and art direction skills, Julian represents a new generation of visual creativity. His enthusiasm for applying new technology has demonstrated his boundless imagination and I’m looking forward to watching his career progression in the future.”

**Griff is on holiday & I forgot to remind him. I swear he'd say something nice.**
