RSPCA - Please Fix That Cat

RSPCA came to us with a smaller brief - a print ad for free stray cat desexing & mircochipping. Seeing potential in the brief, senior writer Mick & I ran with it. After educating ourselves on Australia’s stray cat problem, we saw how far we could push it.

Problem: Stray cats in Australia need to be desexed to reduce numbers. Just one stray cat can lead to 11 Million in just 12 years.

Insight: When it comes to stray cats, the ones that are most affected are billions of native animals.

Idea: We’re giving native animals a voice to highlight the toll cats take on their habitats. “Please Fix That Cat!”

Filling the original print brief - we gave our native animals a voice in large format. Quirky headlines paired with beautiful imagery of the animals draws the audience’s attention. We aim to convey a serious message of the help these animals need while at the same time being aware of not to demonise cats.

To raise awareness for native animals suffering at the hands of stray cats we’ll release a range of fake cat food into culture. With the help of ‘cat influencers’ we’ll ask “Please Fix That Cat!” through a social.
